Chianti is very sweet with both people and other horses. If he’s not breeding a mare right then and there, you wouldn’t even know he was a stallion without looking ;) Chianti is expecting his first foal spring of 2010, and we sure are looking forward to him or her! He will be bred to at least two of our mares for 2011 foals as well.
We only offer very limited outside breedings due to space, so this auction guarantees that you have a spot! For more photos and info on our stallions, please visit www.CheyAutRanch.com
Mare care for this auction: if you supply your mare’s feed, there is no charge for the first 7 days. Without supplying food, and for days beyond the first 7, mare care is $4/day dry. If your mare has a foal at side, her feed must be supplied.
Chianti is a 34” black spotted blanket appy born in 2005. He is DNA tested as Ee (black), with no agouti (which makes bay) and no grey. He has excellent manners and conformation. He is a National Top Ten and wins many blues here locally. He was just in a show here in October and was first place in the stallion halter class and the color class.
He is registered with AMHR and Falabella (as a blend). We plan to get him hard shipped into AMHA in 2010. No guarantees that we will, but if so we will sign all paperwork for you to get your foal registered with AMHA as well if your mare is double registered.
Chianti, as his name implies, goes back to the famous appy Chianti, on both his sire’s side and dam’s side! He also goes back to the famous Rowdy! except hay), and mare care is $5/day beyond the first 7 days. Hay choices are alfalfa and/or Bermuda. We also have Equine Jr, Estrella pellets and beet pulp pellets. Pellets are soaked prior to feeding unless you request otherwise.
Mares can be hand bred or “pasture” bred. Insurance on your mare is highly recommended. If you opt not to insure your mare, a waiver of liability must be signed. Mare owner is responsible for all vet costs incurred to the mare. Your consent will be obtained first unless you cannot be reached in a true emergency. Mare must arrive with clean culture, be up to date on vaccines and deworming, and out of state mares must have current health certificate and coggins.
