Sire: Broken Lance,

VFG El Arlequin, aka Spin, is a triple registered stallion! He is AMHA, AMHR, and Falabella (as a blend). He is a black leopard, with many black leopards in his pedigree! He is DNA tested as Ee (black) with no cream, no agouti (agouti makes bay), and no silver. He has his permanent height card at 33”, and was born 1993.

He was bred/owned by the famous Vincente Fernandez and was a Top Ten. He has excellent manners and conformation. He is very gentle with mares and foals, even putting up with just weaned babies trying to nurse off of him!
Spin has a great pedigree: his sire is the famous Broken Lance, by Francisco of Kilverstone, by Menelek!
He is also a great grandson of Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan!

Before we bought him, Spin had foals for his previous owners. I know at least one was a pinto (from a pinto dam) and at least one was a leopard appy from photos I have seen.
From looking at AMHA studbook, he has also had a solid filly and two other appy colts. We have had three foals by him this year. A leopard colt (sorry no photos, this colt did not make it through a bad dystocia), a colt with all appy characteristics, and a solid filly.
His two live foals of ours are gorgeous, with great conformation, love to show off (great for show horses!) and are complete sweethearts.

He has two foals due in 2010 as well.

Due to space, our outside bookings are very limited. By buying through this auction, you will be guaranteed a space others may miss out on!

Mare care for this auction: if you supply your mare’s feed, there is no charge for the first 7 days. Without supplying food, and for days beyond the first 7, mare care is $4/day dry. If your mare has a foal at side, her feed must be supplied (except hay), and mare care is $5/day beyond the first 7 days. Hay choices are alfalfa and/or Bermuda. We also have Equine Jr, Estrella pellets and beet pulp pellets.
Pellets are soaked prior to feeding unless you request otherwise.

Spin has a better record getting mares in foal being “pasture” bred and is very gentle and sweet with the ladies, but we can hand breed if your mare isn’t so sweet or if you prefer hand breeding.
Insurance on your mare is highly recommended. If you opt not to insure your mare, a waiver of liability must be signed.

Mare owner is responsible for all vet costs incurred to the mare. Your consent will be obtained first unless you cannot be reached in a true emergency. Mare must arrive with clean culture, be up to date on vaccines and deworming, and out of state mares must have current health certificate and coggins.
